Nice to meet you, Lets make something fun.
As a guitarist, my passion is crafting the right sound for every song, and more importantly, my heart is helping worship leaders step into their full potential and come alive in who God says they are.
Hi, I’m Dale Ellis — yes, my dad named me after two legends: Dale Earnhardt and Dale Murphy. And just to clear things up, no, I’m not named after Dale Ellis, the basketball player from the Seattle Supersonics, though all wore the number 3 during their careers.
These days, I call Whitefish, Montana home, where I live with my amazing wife, Colby, and our two kids, Knox and Selah. Life here is full of mountains, rivers, trails, and wide-open spaces — the kind of place that keeps us outside every chance we get. When I’m not holding a guitar, you’ll probably find me running down a trail, fishing a quiet stream, hunting in the backcountry, biking with the kids, or just enjoying the simplicity and beauty of Montana life.
For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving both on stage and behind the scenes as a guitarist and music director. Music has been the thread that’s run through so much of my life — not just as a craft, but as a calling. As a guitarist, I’m passionate about finding the right sound for every song, whether it’s in the middle of a worship set on Sunday morning or in the studio shaping a new record. Along the way, I’ve been honored to play and record with artists and groups such as Housefires, Maverick City Music, Amanda Cook, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham, and many others.
As a music director, I’ve spent years leading and mentoring teams, helping shape environments where musicians and worship leaders don’t just play songs but step into their full identity and calling. For me, it’s never been about perfection or performance — it’s about creating space for people to encounter God, to connect deeply, and to walk away different than when they arrived. That’s what excites me, and that’s why I keep doing this.
At the end of the day, everything I do comes back to this: people and presence. Whether I’m playing guitar, leading a team, or spending a day outdoors with my family, my heart is to be present — to God, to the people around me, and to the beauty of the moment. That’s what I carry into every song, every rehearsal, every stage, and every relationship.
So thanks for stopping by. I’m grateful you’ve taken a few minutes to get to know me, and I hope in some way my story and my music can be a part of yours.
